fractal Gr10t
ancient stories + future networks
The fractal Gr10t merges storytelling traditions with digital aesthetics to explore the cyclical nature of narrative and memory. Named after the griot - a West African historian, storyteller, and keeper of oral traditions - and the self-similar patterns of fractals found in both nature and design, this interactive piece generates evolving narratives that never exactly repeat.
Golden symbols pulse across a dark interface, reminiscent of both circuitry and traditional patterns, while text emerges in four distinct phases: origin, journey, transformation, and return. These phases mirror both the hero's journey in classical storytelling and the recursive patterns of computer algorithms.
